Exceeding guest expectations
All of these roles are fun, fast-paced and, above all, interactive. So no matter where you work you’ll need loads of personality, a sense of humour and the confidence not just to be warm and friendly, but to actively engage with our guests and make sure they have a superb day out. You’ll strike up conversations, make them laugh, ensure they feel special and keep the excitement and wonder alive throughout their visit.
We welcome thousands of guests a day at peak times, so there’s never a dull moment. And no matter how busy or pressurised it gets, you’ll never flag, your enthusiasm will never wane and you’ll always be ready to help out wherever you’re needed. And as many of our roles mean working outside come rain or shine, you’ll keep smiling whatever the weather.
Seasonal and permanent contracts
We offer most of our customer-facing roles on seasonal (fixed term) contracts from the February half-term holiday to October. Some people join us just during holiday periods or at weekends, others work all the way through. We also have opportunities available over the Christmas period. As we’re open all year round, there are permanent openings too and many of those who join us on a seasonal contract go on to secure permanent roles, both full- and part-time.
What you could do
Food & Beverage
You could find yourself working in one of two exciting themed restaurants or outside on one of many refreshment stalls – from BBQs and spit roasts to those offering ice-cream and pancakes. This is our biggest team, and one of our busiest areas of operation.
You might be working in one of our three main gift shops or in a host of different external units. From giant cuddly dinosaurs to swords and armour, you could be selling it all!
Based at the entrance to the Castle, you’ll be selling tickets, manning the turnstiles, giving our guests the warmest of welcomes – and creating a fantastic first impression.
These are our most interactive roles. Dressed in full costume, and working outside in the grounds or in one of the Castle’s magnificent interiors, you’ll engage as many guests as possible in conversation, answer their questions, help them find their way around and make sure they have fun.
